About US

Arlin and Beka Horton founded Pensacola Christian School in 1954 with 3 small classrooms for K5-2nd grade. The little Christian school (now called PCA) quickly grew, adding a grade each year and graduating its first senior class in 1967. Shortly after, a new ministry, A Beka Book (now Abeka), began in 1972 when a generous benefactor donated funds to print three projects: a phonics book, an arithmetic text, and a patriotic reader. In 1974, Pensacola Christian College was founded, followed by Pensacola Theological Seminary in 1988. Over the years, new ministries such as Rejoice Radio were founded to meet the needs of Christians across the globe. With the Lord’s blessing, what started as a small Christian school has turned into a multifaceted ministry that serves millions every year.

Our mission is to promote the cause of Christ by providing a distinctively Christian-traditional, liberal arts education that develops students spiritually, intellectually, morally, culturally, and socially.

Our purpose in both undergraduate and graduate programs is to produce Christian leaders who are knowledgeable, articulate, moral, dedicated to excellence, and committed to serving Jesus Christ as they learn to influence the world by applying biblical principles in their chosen field and daily life.

Abeka produces education resources for Christian schools and homeschools around the world. They provide comprehensive and biblically based curriculum, textbooks, teaching aids, academic support, and more for pre‑school–Grade 12.

Pensacola Christian College and Pensacola Theological Seminary provide thousands of college students with a quality Christian liberal arts education on the undergraduate and graduate school levels.

Abeka Academy offers online or video-based Christian homeschooling options and support for K4–12th grade students and their parents.

Pensacola Christian Academy is a private Christian school that provides children with a solid Bible-based academic foundation that emphasizes Christian character and patriotism.

Rejoice in the Lord is a television ministry that spreads the Gospel and encourages Christians in their walk with the Lord.
