Arlin and Beka Horton founded Pensacola Christian School in 1954 with 3 small classrooms for K5-2nd grade. The little Christian school (now called PCA) quickly grew, adding a grade each year and graduating its first senior class in 1967. Shortly after, a new ministry, A Beka Book (now Abeka), began in 1972 when a generous benefactor donated funds to print three projects: a phonics book, an arithmetic text, and a patriotic reader. In 1974, Pensacola Christian College was founded, followed by Pensacola Theological Seminary in 1988. Over the years, new ministries such as Rejoice Radio were founded to meet the needs of Christians across the globe. With the Lord’s blessing, what started as a small Christian school has turned into a multifaceted ministry that serves millions every year.
